Increasing Calls for White Nationalist Stephen Miller to Resign

Calls from elected officials for white supremacist Stephen Miller to leave the White House aren’t coming just from the House. Two dozen senators so far—all Democrats—told HuffPost that they also believe he should resign or be fired over his anti-immigrant policies and radical views, which have been further exposed in hundreds of recently leaked emails.

“Stephen Miller has championed this administration’s cruelest initiatives,” said Nevada Sen. Jacky Rosen. “From family separation to terminating TPS and DACA, he's used his role to impose his extreme views on policy.” Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono said, “Stephen Miller’s emails reinforce what we’ve known all along: that white nationalism permeates Donald Trump’s administration. He should resign.” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said, “On the long list of people that work in the Trump administration who we believe should not be there, Stephen Miller is at the top of that list.”

In their letter calling for Miller’s resignation, Jewish groups said, “Stephen Miller’s penchant for white nationalism has been public knowledge for some time, but on November 12, we finally saw the paper trail confirming what we all suspected: Stephen Miller is a white nationalist.” Among the revelations in Hatewatch’s investigation is Miller’s close ties to the anti-immigrant hate group Center for Immigration Studies, a group with a “decades-long history of circulating racist writers, while also associating with white nationalists”—like Miller.
