GOP: The Flat Earth Society

James L. Powell (Ph.D. in Geochemistry from MIT who was appointed to the National Science Board by Presidents Reagan and H.W. Bush)  cataloged peer-reviewed articles published in scientific journals between November 12, 2012 and December 31, 2013.  He found 2,258 articles, written by a total of 9,136 authors. Only one article, by a single author in the Herald of the Russian Academy of Sciences, rejected man-made global warming.

Powell previously examined 21 years of peer-reviewed literature and found that only 24 out of 13,950 articles — or two-tenths of a percent — came out and rejected human-caused climate change.

The Daily Dish correctly calls out the GOP for its obscene denial of the overwhelming amounts of evidence of global warming-- labeling it as a "transparent lie in defense of short-term material interest against the long-term interests of everyone [else] . . . and [outright] affront to reason.
