Trump Lies Yet Again

Donald Trump told an audience during an event in North Carolina last night that his golf course in Charlotte sat along the “largest man-made lake in the world by far."  In the pantheon or Trump lies, this one has to rank as a whopper.  The Orangeman is referring to Lake Norman, which is 132 square kilometers in surface area and 1.3 cubic kilometers in water volume.

The largest man-made lake in the world (by surface area) is Africa's Lake Victoria at 66,400 square kilometers.  Lake Norman (at 132 square kilometers) doesn't even come close.

The largest  man-made lake in the world (by water volume) is Lake Kariba (again, in Africa) at 180.6 cubic kilometers.  Lake Norman (at 1.3 cubic kilometers) doesn't even come close.

In fact, Lake Norman fails to crack the top ten largest lakes in the United States-- either in surface area or water volume.  It shouldn't come as any surprise that Trump would minimize something or someone of African origin.
