Perhaps sensing a threat resulting from the return of the Daily Dude, President/Military Dictator Musharraf has declared "martial law" in Pakistan.
Coming just days after Halloween, "Pervy" may just be honing his Kim Jong-il impression-- or perhaps he just has a mild case of 'Putin envy"-- nevertheless he seems to be following the Stalin textbook, chapter and verse:
Suspended constitutional freedoms;
Got rid of opposing justices on the Supreme Court;
Halted TV transmissions other than State-controlled stations;
Isolated opposition leaders (Imran Khan and Benazir Bhutto) with military troops;
Barricaded lawmakers in federal buildings;
Cut phone lines.
The Bush administration, in no position to call the kettle black, could barely muster any level of indignation over the situation-- saying only that it is "deeply disturbed".
