Cheney Unleashed

The Guantanamo detention center should remain open indefinitely, Vice President Cheney said Monday, while also defending the harsh interrogation method known as waterboarding.

Cheney was asked when the detention camp at the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba can be "responsibly" be shut down. "Well, I think that that would come with the end of the war on terror," he told ABC in an interview.

And when is that? "Well, nobody knows," Cheney said. "Nobody can specify that."

So-- now that Darth Cheney is being shown the door, let's get a few things straight:

1. There is no "War" on terror. Use of the term "war" is a piece of bullshit semantics the Bush came up with to legally justify violating constitutional rights. We may struggle against terrorism for a long time, but we are not at war. To be quite honest, having forced us to surrender our constitutional privileges ranks as a "win" for the terrorists . . .

2. Cheney is one of a quickly dwindling handful that thinks Guantanamo should stay open. It is a shameful mark on our history, and it will be shut down soon.

3. Waterboarding is illegal, has always been illegal, and will also end soon.

Dude out.
