One Thousand Words

The Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography was awarded last week to Patrick Farrell of the Miami Herald. The committee recognized him for his provocative, impeccably composed images of despair after Hurricane Ike and other lethal storms caused a humanitarian disaster in Haiti. His stunning images are below.
