This is a sure sign of desperation. The GOP and its downticket candidates are doing so poorly, that of all people-- Elizabeth Dole-- finds herself in serious trouble against an upstart Democratic challenger. Democrat Kay Hagan is a Sunday school teacher, a church elder, and goes on missions with the First Presbyterian Church. Her family has been going to First Presbyterian for over 100 years. And yet Dole is forced to stoop to this level:
